Happy Holidays From The City Of Cambridge: What's Open? What's Closed?

Happy holidays from the City of Cambridge. Cambridge City Hall and some City facilities will be closed as of noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24, reopening Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020.

The Christmas in Cambridge festival hosts its final event on Dec. 31 with the New Year’s Eve party. The family event runs from 5– 8 p.m. at Hespeler Arena, 640 Ellis Rd. Party-goers can enjoy free skating at a Party Rockers Rink or Family Rink, games, crafts, and live entertainment. For more information, visit www.christmasincambridge.ca.

Join Mayor Kathryn McGarry and members of City Council at the Mayor’s New Year’s Levee on Saturday, Jan. 11. The event will be held at Cambridge City Hall from 1– 3 p.m. and features live ice sculpture demonstrations, face painting, henna tattoos, a magician, music by Acoustic Steel, and a Beavertails food truck.

The Cambridge Fire Department would like to remind everyone to keep fire safety top of mind when entertaining this holiday season. Careless cooking is the number one cause of household fires during the holidays. Be sure to stay in the kitchen while cooking and have a working smoke alarm. If you’re warming up with a festive fire, ensure your fireplace and chimney is in proper working order. For more tips to stay safe this holiday, visit www.cambridge.ca/firesafety.
