Cambridge Man Shot And Killed In Food Basics Parking Lot

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate a fatal shooting that occurred in Cambridge on July 31, 2019.

Initial reports reveal that two groups of males, in two separate vehicles, met at a plaza in the area of Franklin Boulevard and Jamieson Parkway. An altercation ensued and as a result, one male was shot.

At approximately 7:40 p.m., police responded to the plaza, where they located a male with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

The victim has been identified as Kyle Parthe, a 20-year-old Cambridge male.

Investigators believe two males were involved in the incident and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying them. They are described as:

Suspect one:

  • Male, black, with no facial hair, a puffy face and black hair.

Suspect two:

  • Male, black, 25-30 years, wearing glasses.

Both males then fled the area in a dark coloured car.

Police believe that the persons involved in this incident are known to each other. However, are reminding the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious person(s) or activity to police.

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Major Crime Unit, General Detectives and Forensic Identification Unit continue to investigate the incident. There will be a police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
