Cocaine Seized At Ride; Driver Charged With Refuse Test

(TOWNSHIP OF PUSLINCH, ON) - On Friday May 10, 2019 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Gore Road in Puslinch Township. At approximately 9:45 p.m. the driver of a white passenger vehicle entered the R.I.D.E. check.

While speaking with the driver, officers suspected they had consumed alcohol. The driver refused to provide a breath sample upon demand. The accused was subsequently arrested. A search of the accused resulted in the seizure of a small quantity of cocaine.

As a result, Stanley M WALTON, 41-years-old of Cambridge, has been charged with Failure to Comply with Breath Demand and Possession of Cocaine. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Court on June 14, 2019.
