Kurtis Reichert Sought In Elmira Woman's Death
Youth Sought - Police Investigate Suspicious Death in Elmira
Waterloo Region, Ontario – On December 25, 2017, members of the Waterloo Regional Police attended a residence in Elmira as a result of a 911 call, and located 57 year old, Elizabeth Alder, deceased.
The circumstances of this death are suspicious and members of the Major Crime Branch in conjunction with the Forensic Identification Branch are continuing to investigate.
There are Reasonable Grounds to arrest Kurtis (Kurt) Reichert, 17, for 2nd degree murder in relation to this death. Alder and Reichert were known to each other.
Reichert is described as white, 5’10. 140 lbs, with dirty blond curly hair. He was last seen wearing a grey jacket with fur around the hood, black track pants and a black Adidas knapsack.
Reichert is considered dangerous and police are encouraging the public not to approach him, but call 911 immediately.
The identity of Kurtis Reichert is being released pursuant to a judge’s order made under Section 110, subsection 4, of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. The authority to publish the identity of a young person ceases after 5 days or apprehension of the young person.
There will be an increased police presence in the area of Falcon Drive, Elmira.
