Speed Deemed A Factor In Early Morning Fatal Crash

On Sunday, May 24, 2020, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Branchton Road in North Dumfries Township. It was determined that the motor vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree and fence before catching on fire. As a result of the incident, a 28-year-old Cambridge female was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 27-year-old Cambridge male was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing; however, speed has been determined as a factor in the collision.
