RUSH HOUR REWARDS - Getting Started

How does Rush Hour Rewards work?

Rush Hour Rewards can help you use less electricity during 'energy rush hours', while keeping you cool and comfortable. When everyone is cranking up the air conditioning on the hottest days of the summer, the Nest Thermostat can automatically cool your home ahead of time, or make minor temperature tweaks to your schedule. If you don't like a temperature that the Nest Thermostat sets, you can change it at any time.

How do I get started?

  1. First, you'll need a Nest Thermostat, valued at $249 from participating local retailers, online at or through a Certified InstallerCheck your home heating/cooling system compatibility with Nest Thermostat.

  2. Install the Nest Thermostat in your home. It takes most people about 30 minutes. Get technical installation help.

  3. Sign up for the Nest Rush Hour Rewards Program.

  4. Cambridge and North Dumfries Hydro will mail your $200 rebate in approximately 6 weeks.

Who's eligible to participate in Rush Hour Rewards

  1. Customers who have an active residential account with CND and install their Nest thermostat within the service territory.

  2. Customers who have Wi-Fi connectivity in their home and connect their Nest thermostat

  3. Customers who have a central air conditioning unit
