Police pulled over a driver this month in Niagara Region after receiving 911 calls about erratic driving. As the police officer pulled the car over, the officer noticed the male driver trading places with the female passenger. When he approached the car he noted that the passenger and driver were both intoxicated.
After struggling with the male in the car the police arrested him, and the two other occupants of the car. The officers then tested both the male driver and female passenger and determined both had blood alcohol levels greater than .08% resulting in criminal charges being laid for impaired driving, and for being in care and control of a vehicle while intoxicated.
Police released the details as they are seeing more cases of people trying to avoid charges by switching places in the car.
